Fun Facts about Dunwoody

Dunwoody has long intrigued North Atlantans, and its businesses and restaurants have generally held their own–even in down economic times. It doesn’t hurt that Dunwoody is the third wealthiest city in Georgia, with a median family income of $101,000. Incidentally, one just might run across one of Dunwoody’s most famous residents at a Perimeter Mall restaurant – American Idol host Ryan Seacrest.

Lying at the northern tip of DeKalb County, Dunwoody was truly “put on the map” when the Perimeter Mall district exploded. The mall and almost half of the Perimeter Community Improvement District comprise a self-taxing district of office buildings, shopping, restaurants and hotels. The tallest building in Dunwoody is the 34-story Ravinia, whose private restaurant/club and “magical gardens” have hosted many a wedding reception and formal banquet.

For both casual and fine dining, Dunwoody and the Perimeter area offers a myriad of choices. Just a little south in Buckhead, Copeland's Famous New Orleans Restaurant has great Cajun, Creole and American dishes, plus Cheescake made on-site! Just a few Dunwoody dining choices include: Co'm Dunwoody for exquisite Southeast Asian and Vietnamese cuisine; Cafe Intermezzo - a European coffee house and cafe; and Mad Italian Restaurant, a local hangout featuring thin crust pizza, Italian entrees and subs, plus the best Philly Cheese Steak this side of Philadelphia.

Sandy Springs is home to numerous restaurants. Ray's Pizza has great NY style pizza and a full Italian menu; Marquito's Mexican Restaurant has been serving the area since 1987; both the Blue Grotto and Nothing But Noodles offer delightfully different menus that you have to check out. The Brickery is a Sandy Springs household name since 1992 with great burgers, steaks, seafood and salads.
