The City of Norcross has a population of roughly 11,000 people. It is a picturesque community that blends historic charm, a trendy urban lifestyle, and a bustling business and warehouse district. Norcross has been named "A Place To Imagine" and is the second oldest city in Gwinnett County. Norcross is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The business, technology and warehouse district lies in the southern portion of Norcross, along Jimmy Carter Blvd. The City of Norcross offers a number of initiatives to encourage and support commerce.
Its quaint Historical Downtown District lies off Holcomb Bridge Road in southern Norcross, and features beautifully renovated Victorian cottages and Queen Anne-style homes. These century-old brick buildings are home to eclectic eateries and specialty shops. There are landscaped parks, and stroller-friendly sidewalks where you can stroll, jog, or skip throughout the downtown area. Enjoy an organic tomato or a savory empanada. There is live music, theatre, art and more. Historic Downtown Norcross was voted "Best Downtown in Gwinnett" in 2010. Gwinnett Magazine also selected Norcross as having the best Downtown and Arts & Cultural Scene.
Norcross is crossed by easy, fast access to major traffic arteries, including I-85, that lead into Atlanta. Norcross is a certified "Green Community," one of only three recipients in metro Atlanta a a Silver Award level.
Most of the shopping and dining in Norcross is centered within the Historic Downtown and along the main thoroughfares of Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Peachtree Parkway (141), Holcomb Bridge and Jimmy Carter Blvd.
Norcross is home to The Forum, an open-air, village-like shopping center on Peachtree Parkway. The Forum features Barnes & Noble, Belk, Talbots, Coldwater Creek, California Pizza Kitchen, Ted Turner's Montana Grill, Harry & David, and a number of specialty restaurants and quality shops and boutiques.
Global Mall offers a variety of specialty and ethnic foods, clothing, jewelry, handicrafts and services. Norcross is also home to BJ's located near the intersection of Jimmy Carter Blvd. and Peachtree Industrial Blvd.
